Creative responses to the River Coquet

Creative Responses to the River Coquet

There are some very creative people around, and some of them are friends of CRAG.

CRAG have been lucky to have friends that have donated artistic works to us. Both the works in the next two paragraphs feature on the front page of our website.

The ‘story of the river’ painting by Sarah Farooqui is the feature of a blog (September 2024) and we use it as the banner for our website. Prints of this map can be purchased from Sarah’s website. 10% of any purchase is donated to CRAG.

The video showing the beauty of the River Coquet and introducing website visitors to some of the activities that CRAG volunteers carry out was donated by Pockets Projects Ltd.

Cheryl Camm is a local composer who lives on the bank of the River Coquet. She has written and arranged several songs for choirs about the Coquet. When her songs have been performed by a local singing group, she often records the performance and regularly posts videos on YouTube. Here are two songs about the River Coquet:

Meeting the Boatman On the River Path

Ali Rowland has also composed some writings on the river, including reflections on the Coquet and the work CRAG does, and a poem titled Meeting the Boatman On the River Path.
